Specifications
The shower trailer is the one product on this site we do not own: it is available through our partner fleet, and we book, deliver, service and bill it the same way as our own restroom trailers. It is a 28-foot, 8-stall unit built for people who need to get clean, not just use a toilet: evacuees, festival campers, film crews after a night shoot, and workers on remote or long-duration sites.

Two numbers decide how the trailer gets used. The 300-gallon tank is the weekend number: filled at delivery, it covers roughly 30 five-minute showers before a top-up. The 50-amp hookup is the site number: if your site has it, you skip $1,500 of generator cost per weekend; if not, we bring the generators.

What changes the shower trailer price:
- Peak season. May through October adds 15% on all trailers. A September festival weekend is $4,019; a January shelter deployment is $3,495.
- Power. The 50 A / 240 V hookup is the single biggest saving: it removes $1,500 per weekend or $2,400 per month of generator cost. Construction sites with a temporary-power panel usually have it; parks and fairgrounds usually do not.
- Water and drain. A hose and a sewer cleanout within reach make the trailer run indefinitely at no extra charge. Without them, budget the $149 holding tank and a $125 pump-out per heavy day.
- Attendant. For a two-day festival, two 10-hour attendant days cost $900 and keep the stalls dry, stocked and moving.
- Distance. Included within 25 miles of Hayward. Oakland at 16 miles and Livermore at 25 are included; San Francisco at 30 miles adds about $18 each way; Santa Rosa at 75 miles adds about $175 each way.
The pricing page lists the shower trailer next to the four restroom trailers, and the restroom trailer hub shows which trailer fits which guest count.

Shower trailer vs. other options
A shower trailer is not a restroom. It has no toilets, and most sites that need one also need restrooms. The table shows how it pairs with the rest of the fleet.
| Option | Monthly | Weekend / event | Showers | Toilets | Hot water | A/C | Accessible | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shower trailer, 8 stalls (this unit) | $8,900 | $3,495 | 8 private | None | Yes, on-board heater | Exhaust fans | No | Camps, shelters, basecamps, festivals |
| 8-stall luxury restroom trailer | $9,900 | $4,695 | None | 8 porcelain | Yes, at sinks | Dual HVAC | No | Festivals and galas to 600 |
| 2-stall luxury restroom trailer | $4,900 | $2,495 | None | 2 porcelain | Yes, at sinks | Yes | No | Weddings to 150, VIP |
| Luxury flushing porta potty | $289 | $295 | None | 1 flush | No | No | No | Guest-facing single units |
| Standard restroom | $189 | $195 | None | 1 | No | No | No | Crew and general-admission clusters |
| ADA / Title 24 unit | $269 | $325 | None | 1 accessible | No | No | Yes | 5% of any public cluster |
The pairing we quote most often for a 150-person camp: one shower trailer at $8,900, 8 standard restrooms at $1,512, 1 ADA unit at $269 and 4 hand washing stations at $516, which is $11,197 per 28 days before power. For a 3-day festival with camping, the shower trailer plus a 4-stall luxury restroom trailer at $3,295 gives campers hot showers and real toilets in one block.
Best for
- Disaster relief and evacuation centers. County and city emergency managers deploy the trailer at shelter sites and base camps where the building has toilets but no showers. The government page covers 24/7 emergency dispatch, PO billing, COI and the exportable service log your after-action report needs.
- Film and TV basecamps. Night shoots, water work, stunt days and dusty locations end with a crew that needs to shower before the drive home. The trailer sits in the basecamp beside the restroom trailer; the film page covers quiet-window service and after-hours moves.
- Multi-day festivals with camping. Campers in Livermore and Napa wine-country and fairground events pay for shower access; one trailer with an attendant handles the morning rush of a 300-camper field. The events page has the full sizing table for the restroom side.
- Long construction projects and remote sites. Infrastructure jobs with a 28-day-plus horizon, tunnel and pipeline sites, and crews working with lead or hazardous materials use the trailer as the end-of-shift decontamination shower. The construction page covers sewer and holding-tank setups and Net-30.
- Athletic events and training camps. Finish-line showers for trail races and mud runs in the East Bay hills near Hayward and Castro Valley, and summer training camps on fields with no locker room.
- Agricultural harvest and seasonal labor housing. Short-season crews in the Santa Rosa and Napa valleys where permanent facilities are not ready; 8 CCR §3457 field-sanitation rules cover the toilets and handwashing we place alongside.
Site requirements and placement
- Pad: level ground 28' × 8.5' plus 3 feet on the entry side for steps, about 28' × 12' in use. Asphalt, concrete or compacted gravel preferred; firm dry lawn works with leveling blocks and ground protection on the tow path. A shower trailer is heavier when full, 300 gallons of water adds about 2,500 pounds, so soft ground matters more than for a restroom trailer.
- Approach: a straight run of about 50 feet and 12 feet wide, overhead clearance about 13 feet, no gates narrower than 10 feet, no switchbacks. We confirm the route from a pin and photos at booking.
- Power: a 50-amp, 240-volt receptacle within 50 feet on its own breaker, or generators 25 feet or more from the trailer and from sleeping areas on the service side.
- Water: a standard garden-hose bib within 100 feet for anything longer than a weekend. For a weekend at the rated use, the 300-gallon tank filled at delivery is enough.
- Grey water: a sewer cleanout within hose reach is the best option; otherwise the 250-gallon holding tank on the service side, placed where the pump truck can reach it within about 60 feet.
- Privacy and flow: place the entry side away from roads and sleeping tents, with a lit, firm path. Fence panels create a queue and a changing-area screen; an attendant manages the line at peak hours.
- Public right-of-way: a 28-foot trailer on a street needs the city's permit before placement. San Francisco's Public Works Street Space permit limits equipment to one-third of the roadway width; Oakland's Obstruction Permit requires No Parking signs 72 hours ahead and may need a traffic-control plan.
- Accessibility: the trailer is not wheelchair accessible. Shelter and public-event planners should plan an accessible shower facility separately and place ADA restroom units on a firm, level route.
Service and cleaning standard
- Before delivery (partner yard): grey-water tank pumped and sanitized, fresh tank filled with 300 gallons, water heater and pumps tested, all 8 stalls cleaned, drains cleared, dispensers filled.
- At delivery: trailer leveled, power or generators connected, heater brought up to temperature, every shower run and every drain checked, sewer or holding tank connected, walkthrough with your contact.
- During the event (attendant): wipe benches and floors between users at peak, restock soap and towels, monitor the grey-water level and the fresh-water gauge, call in a pump-out or top-up before either becomes a problem.
- Weekly (28-day rentals): pump the holding tank or confirm the sewer connection, refill fresh water, clean and disinfect all 8 stalls and drains, check the heater, pumps and fans, restock, photograph, GPS-stamp and text the receipt.
- At pickup: tanks pumped on site or at the yard, trailer cleaned and inspected. Grey water goes only to permitted receiving facilities such as EBMUD Resource Recovery in Oakland, open 24/7 to permitted haulers, or the City of San José hauler program in the South Bay.
We are a registered chemical-toilet hauler; the partner fleet's trailer is serviced under the same photo-proof standard as our own units, and insurance certificates to your limits are available on request.
Compliance notes
- Cal/OSHA 8 CCR §1527 requires one washing facility per 20 construction employees, near the toilets, with soap and single-use towels. A shower trailer does not replace those hand washing stations; it adds to them. Text at dir.ca.gov §1527.
- Cal/OSHA 8 CCR §1532.1 (lead in construction) requires employers to provide shower facilities, where feasible, for employees exposed above the permissible exposure limit, and to ensure they shower at the end of the shift. See dir.ca.gov §1532.1. Other hazardous-material standards carry similar provisions; your safety officer decides which apply.
- ADA 2010 Standards section 608 sets the dimensions for accessible shower compartments. The partner trailer's stalls do not meet them, so shelters and public events need an accessible shower solution alongside it, and 5% (minimum 1) accessible restroom units in any public cluster under CBC 11B-213 (2010 Standards at ada.gov).
- Grey-water disposal. Shower water is trucked waste under the same rules as toilet waste: no discharge to ground or storm drain, hauler registered under Cal. Health & Safety Code §117400, disposal at permitted facilities only.
- County environmental health. Festivals and camps with food service file a sanitation plan; list the shower trailer, the restrooms and the handwash stations together.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rent a shower trailer?
$3,495 for a Friday delivery to Monday pickup, or $8,900 per 28 days with weekly service, including delivery, leveling, connection, pickup and tax within 25 miles of Hayward. May through October adds a 15% peak surcharge, so a summer weekend is $4,019. Power is extra unless you have a 50-amp, 240-volt hookup: two 7 kW generators cost $1,500 per weekend.
How many showers can the trailer provide between refills?
The 300-gallon fresh tank covers roughly 30 five-minute showers per fill if you plan on about 10 gallons each, which is how we size it. Connected to a garden hose within 100 feet the trailer refills continuously, so the limit becomes the water heater's recovery and the grey-water tank, which is why multi-day sites get a hose and a sewer or holding-tank connection.
What power does a shower trailer need?
One 50-amp, 240-volt hookup, the kind an RV park or a construction temporary-power panel provides, runs the water heater, pumps, lights and exhaust fans. Without it, we place two 7 kW generators at $750 each per weekend or $1,200 each per 28 days, or a 10 kW generator on request. The driver connects and tests everything at delivery.
Where does the shower water go?
Grey water drains to a 250-gallon holding tank at $149 per month, which we pump on the weekly service visit or on a $125 mid-event call, or to a sewer cleanout within hose reach, which we connect at no charge when available. Nothing is discharged to the ground or a storm drain; our pump trucks dispose only at permitted receiving facilities such as EBMUD in Oakland.
Is the shower trailer available for emergency and disaster response?
Yes. Public agencies get 24/7 emergency dispatch, and the trailer is sized for evacuation centers, wildfire base camps and shelter sites: 8 private stalls, hot water, lockable doors and a changing bench in each. We bill by purchase order with Net-30 and provide a certificate of insurance to your limits. Availability comes through our partner fleet, so call for a same-day confirmation.
Can I rent a shower trailer for a film basecamp or a long construction project?
Yes. At $8,900 per 28 days with weekly service, the trailer serves a remote construction camp or a production basecamp for as many cycles as you need, renewed monthly. Productions pair it with a luxury restroom trailer and standard units; construction sites with lead or hazardous-material exposure use it to meet Cal/OSHA shower provisions where feasible. Approved accounts get one consolidated monthly invoice.
